Calling All Walkers!
Subject: Walking opportunities around Myddfai
Message: Hi
We are Ray & Barbara from
Min y Ffordd, Myddfai
We were wondering if there are any others in the village who would like to explore and learn more about this wonderful area we all live in,
during the week or at weekends?
The walking would be great for our health and wellbeing and we would all be able to make new friends and enjoy a breath of air especially during the winter months.
We are not looking for 20 mile hikes across the mountains... at least not until we all find the stamina we would need to venture this far, but some short and medium length walks around the village to see more evidence of our village history and beginnings....
We did so much enjoy the Talk and Demonstration given by Lara earlier in the summer on medicinal plants etc.... the associated walk was so interesting.... we feel this could be widened to cover so much around the village including finding the Physicians Well location and maybe a walk up Mynydd Myddfai?.... History of the church and chapels? the opportunities are endless.
We hope there is a person who would like to take up the position as a guide and show us the way...hope so.
Regards Ray & Barbara

Have a look on the "Exploring Myddfai" link on this website, Justin Lewis has excellently detailed some of the best walks around Myddfai.
Thanks Lesley.... I have read them and will definitely try them.
I have written to Justin ( who i now know lives in the village with his family) to thank him, and to ask if he would lead a few of the longer walks maybe.... He has replied that he would on a suitable weekend if enough people were interested....
Thanks Again....Ray
sorry, but we no longer live in Myddfai, but can recommend the country lanes around the village for a lovely walk...
