Our Village Hall was erected as a temporary prefab in the very early fifties and is now nearly sixty years old! Many memories are connected with the Hall and it has played an integral part of our community life. BUT from these photographs one can see that there comes a time when it is necessary to say goodbye and welcome the hope that we may say hello to a new Hall.

The Myddfai christmas Fayre took place on 29th November 2008. £850 was raised on the raffle for the handmade quilts and cushion covers alone. More money was raised from the various craft and produce stalls as well as tombola, guess the weight of the cake, splat the rat, guessing the last serial numbers on a £50 note and an intriguingly hard quiz identifying 20 local farms on Google earth maps! Delicious mulled wine was enjoyed and fun was had by those with a creative streak - messing about with paints making christmas wrapping paper. Merry Christmas/Nadolig Llawen!!

The 2009 Myddfai Calendar has been printed and is now on sale. If you want to buy a copy the order form can be found in the entrance hall of the Village Hall or contact Lesley Griffith on 01550 721392. Calendars cost £6.00 each or £6.50 with an envelope.

Here are some pics of the recent harvest Festival at St Michael's. The proceeds of the collection (a magnificent £181.01) are being sent to two churches in Harare, Zimbabwe for distribution to the needy, who because of the current economic situation there are in dire straights. Each pound will go a long way to bring some joy and light into the desparate lives of many. It is an incredible display of caring from this community.
